For the handspinner
that likes to get
right to the
spinning...
Our handspinning fibers are processed using the softest ewe fleeces from Nash Island Wool. We gently wash the fibers in biodegradable soaps to remove grease, dirt, and the occassional bit of seaweed. The cleaned fibers are then machine-carded into roving. (We spin most of this roving into our sweater yarn, but we want to share the fun of spinning this wonderful fiber so we save some roving for handspinning enthusiats.) We hand-dye the roving in seasonally inspired colors using a special secret family recipe. When spun and knit (or woven), the multi-toned roving creates a fabric with light and dark highlights playing on a single color. For the adventursome dyer, we also carry Nash Island Roving in natural pure white.
If you would like to order roving, please e-mail us or call for current colorway choices and availability.
